Department of Forests

Department of Forest Scince
Vision
Excellence and advancement in academic education, leadership in community service, and quality in scientific research in the fields of forest sciences, striving for international recognition.
Mission
Contributing to sustainable development by preparing highly qualified and specialized agricultural engineers in the field of forest sciences. These professionals will be committed to ethical standards, possess strong scientific knowledge and practical skills, and be capable of meeting the needs of the local, regional, and global labor markets. They will also serve the community competitively by developing scientific research skills and fostering continuous self-learning.
Department Objectives
1. Educating and training specialized scientific cadres with high competencies in forest sciences, enabling them to face professional challenges and compete in serving the community and meeting labor market needs.
2. Developing a modern and stimulating educational environment equipped with the latest technologies and advanced equipment to enable students to compete, innovate, and excel, fostering a desire for continuous learning, self-development, teamwork, and decision-making in forest sciences.
3. Preparing professionals familiar with agricultural legislation, legal and social issues, and committed to work ethics and quality management related to agriculture, particularly forest sciences.
4. Managing and utilizing resources efficiently while addressing challenges in agricultural enterprises and projects, all within the framework of conserving natural resources, biodiversity, and sustainable development.
5. Equipping students with language and computer skills while enhancing their ability to apply scientific and practical methods in research related to forest sciences and contributing to solving agricultural issues.
6. Analyzing human, plant, and soil interactions with the general environment to promote natural resource conservation and environmental protection.
7. Assessing soil and water characteristics and determining appropriate agricultural land-use patterns in forest sciences under different environmental conditions, ensuring soil conservation and water pollution prevention for a sustainable and clean environment.
8. Developing skills in advertising, marketing, labeling, presenting, and selling forest products.
9. Integrating forest ecosystem knowledge to address the effects of climate change on forest systems and the ecosystem services they provide, while promoting green, sustainable, and livable environments in urban and suburban areas.
10. Managing, measuring, and analyzing natural resources, as well as overseeing public lands such as forests, national parks, reserves, and wildlife areas, including fire management.
11. Acquiring skills necessary for evaluating and ensuring the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of forests.
12. Enhancing the quality of forest products and industries while ensuring the sustainable production of environmentally responsible wood products and managing bioenergy plantations.
13. Solving environmental and resource-related problems centered around forests, preserving biodiversity, promoting ecotourism as a source of income and social well-being, implementing carbon sequestration measures, and transitioning toward a green and digital economy.
14. Developing renewable materials, energy, and sustainable land-use strategies while producing bio-based resources (such as wood, plants, wood waste, and organic waste) that can be transformed into valuable products (such as biofuels, bioplastics, textiles, and food and medical additives).
15. Learning more about urban environments, sustainability, and the planning and management of urban green spaces and nature in cities to make them more livable.
16. Evaluating and analyzing agricultural projects in the field of forest sciences, investing in natural agricultural resources, and developing plans for their growth and improvement.
17. Utilizing modern methods and analytical approaches in planning and implementing fertilization programs, maximizing the sustainable use of land and water resources, controlling waste, and reducing pollution to produce environmentally safe forest products.
