Dry and Conservation Agriculture Research Center Hosts IOM Representatives and Nineveh Agriculture Directorate

The Dry and Conservation Agriculture Research Center at the University of Mosul hosted representatives from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Mr. Mahmoud Erdini, a representative from the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The meeting focused on a new project aimed at training farmers in the village of Awainat, in the Rabia subdistrict, on conservation agriculture techniques.
During the meeting, the center presented its action plan for training farmers, outlining the requirements for implementing and applying the project in collaboration with the Agriculture Directorate.
This meeting emphasised on the university’s role in serving the community by training farmers in cost-effective and environmentally friendly agricultural methods. The project aims to enhance agricultural productivity, support the stability of farming communities, and reduce rural-to-urban migration.
