Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Al-Ameri and Master’s student Faisal Qasim Hajji have registered six new fungal strains at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), isolated from soil contaminated with diesel fuel. This achievement highlights the role of the strains in bioremediation using hydrocarbons as an energy source, these strains were given symbols

1- Fusarium chlamydosporum strain FAHA1.

2- Alternaria botrytis strain FAHA1.

3- Aspergillus flavus strain sh2.

4- Fusarium equiseti strain LW320150812.

5- Penicillium crustosum strain T5F.

6- Rhodotorula mucilaginosa strain SC2
