On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the College of Engineering at the University of Mosul held a scientific seminar entitled “Environmental pollution in Iraq, its types and sources, ways to control it and transition to sustainable energy”, part of which was attended by Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs.

The lectures were presented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Fouad Mahmoud, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleh Muhammad, Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Osama Jassim, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulrahman Habo Muhammad, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Mahal Najm and Teacher Dr. Ali Azzam Muhammad.

The symposium included two sessions of 6 lectures, the first of which dealt with the applications of the lithium-ion battery, clean energy for a sustainable future, solar energy, while the second session dealt with combustion and its types, mathematical modeling of combustion and triad and the transition towards sustainable energy.

The symposium came up with a series of recommendations
