College of Medicine

The Council of the College of Medicine held its ninth meeting for the academic year 2019-2020 on Wednesday, 8 January 2020. The meeting was chaired by Prof Dr Basil M. Natheer Saeed, and in the presence of the Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs (Secretary of the Council) Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim Zubeer, the Vice- Dean for Administrative Affairs Assistant Prof Dr Hazim Kh. al-Allaf, in the presence of the other members of the Council (Heads o Rapporteurs of the Scientific of the Departments). The meeting touched on several items including discussing the schedule for the mid-year exams for the academic year 2019-2020 for the second, third, fourth and fifth stages, and the final exam for the first level (first stage) being subject to the curriculum system. The topic of the Research Gate was also discussed, and the need for all teachers to join it within the umbrella of the medical colleges. In this context, the Official of the Scientific Affairs Division Prof Dr Rana M. Raouf was hosted by the Medical Council, who presented power point on this subject through the Data Show. The items of the “Fasting and Ramadan” seminar, which will be held by the college, were discussed on 19 April 2020 (before the Blessed Month of Ramadan). These and other issues have been discussed, and the council has also taken the appropriate decisions and recommendations in this regard.
