The College of Medicine Holds an Online Training Course on the Use of the Google Classroom for Exams

Under the supervision and presence of Dean Prof Dr Basil M. Natheer Saeed, and the presence of Scientific Vice -Dean, associate Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, and a number of heads of scientific departments, the College of Medicine held an electronic training course entitled “Using the Google Classroom platform to perform student exams electronically” on Friday, 5th June 2020. Initially, the dean addressed a welcoming and guiding word about the importance of conducting these intensive electronic training courses as part of the preparation and preparations for holding the final exams for the current academic year according to the specified dates. Then, the electronic training course moderated by the Computer Maintenance Unit official, associate Chief Engineer Hussein N. Saleh, began with a qualitative lecture for one of teaching staff of the Department of Family and Community Medicine , the assistant lecturer Firas Mahmoud Saeed on the use of the Google Classroom platform, and compared it to the Edmodo platform. The training course discussed how the students will perform in the electronic exam on the various platforms offered. It aimed to train teaching staff to use the Google Classroom platform to take final exams. It reached many advantages in using the mentioned platform in performing medical school exams over others. The session included questions, discussions and interventions by the attendees. A practical application was also conducted to develop and solve questions, and how to export the result in an Excel file format. This training course was attended by dozens of teaching staff and graduate students. Whereas, undergraduate students will be trained on the examination platforms within the next few days.
