Participation in an international Electronic Conference in Iran

The lecturer Dr Ibrahim M. Faisal from the Department of Pharmacology participated in an international conference on medical and health sciences which was held (electronically) in Iran from 11th to 12th June 2020. The participation was through presenting his research entitled “short-term treatment with atorvastatin selectively decreases lymphocytes count”, which was conducted in partnership with Dr Hani Mahidi and Dr Marwan Muhammad from the College of Pharmacy, University of Mosul. The research discussed the effect of emerging statin drugs to treat hyperlipidemia on the number of white defense cells. The goal is that does the use of these drugs for a short period of time have an effect on the number of white blood cells? The study concluded that the use of these drugs had a significant effect on the number of lymphocyte cells in particular. Note that the said conference is held periodically every week in a different country around the world.
