Training Course in Forensic Medicine in France

The rapporteur of the Dept. of Pathology, assistant lecturer Karam T. Tawfiq had completed his training course in Forensic Medicine in France from 1 Dec. 2019 to 26 Feb 2020. The training course took place at the Central University Teaching Hospital in Nancy, and at Nancy School of Medicine at the University of Lorraine (Université de Lorraine). The importance of training in this specialization lies in the fact that it is one of the rare specializations in the universities of Iraq. The details of the training course included checking the victims of domestic violence, abused children, and various other types of violence. On the sidelines of the training, several training courses had entered in the MEDCRIM2 Master’s program which includes legal medicine, archeology as well as others. Before returning, a souvenir was presented from the College of Medicine to the Head of the Dept. of Forensic Medicine at the University of Lorraine, a statue of Hammurabi, a symbol of Iraq and its ancient cultural heritage.
