The 11th College of Medicine Council Recommends of being the Clinical Training in Presence

The Council of the College of Medicine recommended that clinical training for students of the fourth and fifth stages be presence not electronic given to its importance in mastering scientific knowledge provided that the groups are as small as possible while taking all necessary health precautions. This was during the eleventh meeting of the council that was held virtually on Wednesday, 24th February 2021. Among the recommendations, the mid-year examinations for the academic year 2020-2021 will be electronic for the first three stages, whereas the examinations for the fourth and fifth stages will be presence by 60%, and electronic by 40%.

In the scientific affairs item, it was approved awarding a master’s degree for four students in pathology and community medicine majors.

The council had begun its meeting by welcoming and congratulating Assistant Prof Zainab M. Ali on the occasion of her assumption the duties of the Presidency of the Department of Biochemistry expressing at the same time his thanks and praise to Assistant Prof Dr Hazim A. Muhammad the Former Head of the Department. The meeting’s agenda also included a review of the most important directives for the last meeting of the distinguished University Council.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed, and in the presence of the Scientific Vice-Dean (Secretary of the Council), Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, and the Administrative Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Hazim Kh. Al-Allaf and other members of the Council.
