Two Student Seminars for the Department of Medicine Discuss Lymphoma and Cutaneous Symptoms of Internal Diseases

The Department of Medicine held two student seminars that dealt with the topics of lymphoma and cutaneous symptoms of internal diseases on Tuesday, 23rd February 2021.

The twenty-third seminar entitled “Lymphomas” was presented by the students: Yunus Ahmed, Nour Salah El-Din, Noura Saad, Alaa Amjad, Asma Hammoud under the supervision of the lecturer Dr Alia A. Najm from the Department of Pathology. The diseases of malignant lymph nodes and their symptoms were discussed in the seminar along with the ways to diagnose and then treat them.

After that, the twenty-fourth seminar entitled “Dermatological Manifestations of Systemic Diseases” was presented by the students: Thaer Ismail, Amani Ammar, Balsam Saad, Dina Ahmed, Rahma W. Ghanim and under the supervision of the department lecturer Dr Qassim S. Chalabi, and the lecturer Dr Anfal L. Qasid. The aim of its topic is to shed light on the skin symptoms of internal diseases and how to recognize them, and link them to the clinical case.

This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for the sixth year students. Among the attendees were the Head of the Department, rapporteur and general teaching staff of the department. It also attended by the Head of the Department of Family and Community Medicine as well as students of the aforementioned stage (exclusively medicine).
