The Council’s Thirteenth Meeting of the College of Medicine Announces the Completion of its Preparations for Commencing Mid-year Examinations in the Presence of Undergraduate Students for the Academic Year 2020-2021

The College of Medicine Council announced the completion of its preparations for commencing the mid-year examinations in attendance for undergraduate students for the academic year 2020-2021. This occurred during the Council’s thirteenth meeting that took place on Tuesday 30th March 2021. These examinations are expected to start on Sunday, 11th April 2021. The Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs emphasized that the questions are clear, comprehensive and distributed among the lectures in a balanced manner in line with the examination instructions and ministerial directives in this regard taking into account its compatibility with the exam period.

In the context of postgraduate studies, it was recommended to grant a master’s degree in pathology. The title of a research project for a PhD student in medicines has also been changed, due to the unavailability of the sample. Also, a compensatory period (three months) was approved for master’s students in the departments of pharmacology, medical physiology, bio chemistry and anatomy, who were accepted for the 2019-2020 academic year. A research project has also been identified for a master’s student in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (specializing in community medicine). The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed, and in the presence of the Scientific Vice-Dean (Secretary of the Council), Assistant Prof Dr Hammam Gh. Ibrahim, and the Administrative Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Hazim Kh. Al-Allaf and other members of the Council.
