Discussing the Research of the Iraqi Board (Mosul Centre) in Pathology ‘Assessing the Level of Hepcidin and Interleukin-6 in Thalassemia Patients”

The research of the Iraqi board student (Mosul Centre) in the field of pathology, Heba M. Fathi Al-Azzawi, aimed to assess the level of hepcidin, interleukin-6 and iron stores in patients with thalassemia major as well as with the rest of the chemical and blood variables on Sunday, 30th January 2022. It also aimed to know the patients who have very high iron in their blood compared with the level of hepcidin.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof Dr Khalid N. Al-Khairo (chairman), Prof Dr Wahda M. Tayeb (member), Assistant Prof Dr Sadil O. Al-Shabakhoun (member), and Prof Dr Mona A. Kashmoula (member and supervisor).

Part of the discussion was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed, the Scientific Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, a number of teaching staff and some postgraduate students.

After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read included accepting the research with doing some necessary amendments to it.
