Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednathir Saeed, the Department of Biological Chemistry held its annual scientific symposium “A review of different biochemical markers” within the continuous education programs on 10/10/2022 in the hall of discussion under the slogan “We are sailing in biochemistry towards something new.”The symposium was opened in the presence of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, Prof Muhammad F. Abdullah, Director of the Department of Media and Public Relations at University of Mosul. The symposium was also attended by the dean of the College of Medicine, the vice- deans for scientific and Administrative in addition to a selection of heads of scientific departments, teaching staff and employees of the college.The symposium dealt with various topics, as Assistant Prof Dr Hazim Allawi, Lecturer Dr Ihsan Hassan and Lecture Dr Maryam Hani delivered interesting lectures. The audience interacted with her by asking questions and inquiries.The symposium concluded with the recommendations of the Head of the Biochemistry Department, Assistant Prof. Dr Zainab M. Ali Hassan, on the importance of educating doctors about the biofire device and the type of tests it provides. And follow-up modern technology in the treatment of gout, diagnosis of hereditary high cholesterol, and referral of patients to the specialized fatty clinic.
