The First Ministry Meeting on the Unified National Exam for the Medical Colleges

The head of the supervision and scientific evaluation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Nabil H. Al-Araji chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Committee on the unified national exam for the graduates of medical colleges on Sunday, 13th October 2019 in Baghdad. The meeting was attended by the members of the Committee, some of the heads of universities and some of the deans of medical colleges throughout Iraq, including the dean of the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Prof Dr Basil M. Natheer. The meeting, which lasted four hours, dealt with putting the unified national examination mechanism for medical graduates (including medical schools). Passing this examination may result in the possibility of registering in the Medical Association and for the purposes of distributing the old rotations. It may also entail the submission to postgraduate scholarships, assignments, etc. It was also discussed that the participants in this exam are the graduates of medical colleges of public and private universities alike. Graduates of Iraqi universities will be also required to enter this exam after they pass the equivalent-diploma exam.
