Under the slogan “Protect your family from diabetes” and under the patronage and presence of the Director General of Nineveh Health Consultant physician Dr Jassem I. Al-Maimari, the Wafa Specialized Centre of Ibn Sina Hospital held the Fourth Scientific Conference for Diabetes and Endocrinology on 13-14 November 2019. The conference presented the latest scientific and medical developments in the treatment of diabetes and endocrine diseases. A number of academic teaching staff and heads and rapporteurs of departments of the College of Medicine attended this conference. On the first day of the conference, the lecturer Dr Wael Th. Younis delivered his lecture entitled ” New Guidelines in Managing Type 2 DM” The conference comes in celebration of World Diabetes Day (November 14 each year), the day Canadian scientist Frederick Bantag was born, who discovered insulin and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1923. Among the attendees were some of the teaching staff of the University of Nineveh and a number of retired pioneer professors of the College of Medicine as well as directors of hospitals and specialists in the Section of Health Nineveh.
