An Expanded Meeting of the Deanship of the College of Medicine with the New Students for the Academic Year 2020-2021

The Deanship of the College of Medicine held an expanded meeting, the first of its kind, with new students (first stage) admitted centrally for the academic year 2020-2021 on Monday January 4th 2021. The meeting was chaired by the Dean Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed, in the presence of the Scientific Vice- Dean Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim Zubeer, and Mr. Administrative Vice -dean, Assistant Prof Dr. Hazim Kh. Al-Allaf. Initially, the Dean, who congratulated and welcomed the new students on the occasion of their admission to the college, stressing that what governs between the college and the university on the one hand and the student on the other hand is a set of controls and instructions issued by the higher authorities Initially, the Dean, who congratulated and welcomed the new students on the occasion of their admission to the college, stressing that what governs between the college and the university on the one hand and the student on the other hand is a set of controls and instructions issued by the higher authorities including the commitment to the dates of the lectures and their attendance before the professor, the preservation of public property and cleanliness because the medical student is viewed in a special view by everyone, and therefore his behavior must always be as an educated person because he belongs to an ancient college. After that, the Scientific and Administrative Vice-Deans , the Educational Guide and the Director of Registration spoke, as they touched upon the college’s academic system (which is annual) and not to fear the obstacle of the English language as it is the official language for lecturing and exams. On the other hand, they directed the students to stay away from quarrels and violations to avoid any problems that would befall the student himself after that, and that might negatively affect his academic level. The directive was also given to the necessity of following the administrative steps in the event of an inquiry about something, starting from the teaching staff and the scientific department, to the Guidance and Registration Committee, then the Vice- Dean and Dean. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Registration Division, the lecturer Dr Ashraf A. Al-Sumaydaie, and the Head of the Educational Counseling Unit (Head of the Family and Community Medicine Department), Assistant Prof Dr Walid Gh. Al-Taee.
