His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr Hani M. Badr, indicated the need to enhance cooperation between the Ministries of Health and Education in all fields in support of both health and educational institutions on the evening of Wednesday, 25th August 2021. During his attendance at the virtual meeting of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges, His Excellency confirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Health to transfer or assign doctors to owners Education to address the shortage in educational institutions especially for recently established medical colleges. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Committee, Prof DrAnis Kh. Nayel (Dean of the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University) and the members of the committee (the deans of the medical colleges) including the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed.

In the aforementioned context, the possibility of faculty members working in hospitals (on the one hand), and the participation of doctors in universities (on the other hand), was discussed taking into account the privacy of university employees because they have other special tasks such as training, teaching, student follow-up, exam items, and others. The attendees also reviewed the possibility of converting some non-teaching hospitals to become educational while providing the necessary technical, administrative and logistical requirements to implement this.
