His Excellency Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof Dr Nabil K. Abdulsahib, chaired a meeting of the deans of the colleges of the medical group in Iraq on Wednesday, November 11th 2020. The meeting discussed increase the level of the medical group’s capacity in the public universities in order to take in the outputs of the secondary schools. His Excellency the Minister directed to increase the capacity of the medical group to 50% in the colleges of the medical group for the academic year 2020-2021 in which everyone will compete according to the average and the student’s desire to register the appropriate options in the central admission form. From the part of the Faculty of Medicine, the meeting was attended by the Dean, Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed. In this context, the deans expressed their understanding of the current circumstances, requirements and challenges, while affirming their commitment and defence of the sobriety of medical education in Iraq.
