The Physiology Department Finishes Holding Students’ Seminars of the First Semester for the Academic Year 2020-2021

The Department of Physiology completed the holding of students’ seminars for the second stage of the first semester for the academic year 2020-2021 on Sunday 14th March 2021. On the aforementioned day, four virtual seminars were held. A group of students presented the seminar entitled “Palsy of the Heart”. It aims to clarify the healthy and proper function of the heart in terms of blood flow, the structure of the cardiac muscle, the electrical conduction system in the heart and the ECG (to accurately diagnose the cardiac problem), and how these functions interact and depend on each other. After that, the second seminar was presented entitled “The Hearing Process. And he aimed to introduce the function of the ear. These two seminars were supervised by the department’s rapporteur, lecturer Dr Zaid Q. Omar.

After that, the third seminar was held for the college, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Assistant Prof. Dr Afra’ M. Al-Amin. The seminar aimed to introduce this organ, its importance, function and how to preserve it as it is responsible for purifying and filtering the blood from toxins and exhausts resulting from the metabolism process. Then the conclusion was held with the topic of ” Blood Physiology” under the supervision of my department lecturers Dr Janan Abdel-Razzaq, and the assistant lecturer Dr Bushra Khair El-Din. It aimed to introduce the different blood groups, such as haemoglobin, blood clotting, iron metabolism, and its importance in the human body.
