Two Medical Students’ Seminars Discuss Adrenal Imbalances and Developments of Stem Cell Therapy

The Department of Medicine held two students’ seminars on Thursday 18th March 2021 on the topics of adrenal imbalances and developments of stem cell therapy.

The twenty-seventh seminar entitled “Management of Patients with Abnormal Adrenal Function” was presented by the students: Tamara Kh. Mohamed, Hanin M. Nemat, Asma A. Muhammad, Zahra M. Khalid, Sarah H. Hammadi and under the supervision of the department’s rapporteur Lecturer Dr Wael Th. Younis. The seminar discussed how to treat patients with adrenal gland disorders.

After that, the twenty-eighth seminar entitled “Stem Cell Therapy” was presented by the students: Muhammad and Adalah Ahmed, Maryam Akram, Sanabel Numan, Sama Majed, and Ola Mohsen, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof DrKhalid Al-Kheroo. The seminar dealt with the latest developments of stem cell therapy, the developments of this revolutionary technology, and how to apply it in various disease cases and their side effects.

This scientific activity is part of the study requirements for sixth stage. Among the attendees were all the department’s teaching staff as well as the students of the aforementioned stage (the medicine group exclusively).
