Two Students’ Seminars of the Department of Medicine Deal with Joint Diseases and Heart Failure

The Department of Medicine held two students’ seminars on the topics of joint diseases and heart failure on Thursday 8th April 2021.

The 33rd seminar entitled “Crystal Induced Arthropathy” was presented by the students: Omar Zaidan, Ru’a Hasan, Zahar Khalid, Sami Loay and Sama Arfad under the supervision of Prof Dr Fakher Y. Hussein. The topic of joint diseases resulting from deposition of various crystals, methods of diagnosis and treatment and the most important developments in therapeutic interventions was discussed.

After that, the thirty-fourth seminar which was held in the combined mode (attendance and electronic) titled “Management of Patients with Heart Failure” was presented by the students: Faisal Mazin, Farah Luqman, Lujain Hussam, Muhammad Fateh, and Yussef Alain under the supervision of Assistant Prof Dr Diaa A. Al-Hamdani. It also discussed how to treat heart failure patients.

This scientific activity is part of the study requirements for sixth-level students. Among the attendees was the Head of the Department, Prof Dr Khalid N. Al-Kherooas well as the general teaching staff, and students of the aforementioned stage (medicine group in particular).
