Equipping a solar power plant at the Faculty of Science

Based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of Mosul University, and as part of the urban renaissance projects that the Faculty of Science is moving forward with under the supervision of The Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the Faculty of Science and the follow-up of The Head of the Department of New and Renewable Energies Assistant Professor Dr. Assem Ahmed Issa equipped a “solar power plant” with an integrated laboratory “Solar” for the departments of renewable energies and medical physics, the first solar laboratory at Mosul University.This step emphasizes support for sustainable development given the enormous benefits solar energy offers in developing, improving and upgrading life away from normal harmful and costly means. It also provides a base that supports the theoretical and practical knowledge of students on thermal and electrical applications regarding the application of solar energy for domestic and industrial uses, in addition to contributing to the achievement of researchers and students for their research and applied projects.
