In a pioneering academic achievement that adds to its record of continuous success, the College of Science at the University of Mosul has obtained program accreditation for the Bachelor’s Program in the Department of New and Renewable Energies, becoming the first College of Science among 44 science colleges across Iraqi universities to achieve this distinguished academic milestone.

This accomplishment is the result of a comprehensive institutional effort led by the University Presidency, represented by the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the direct follow-up of the Head of the Department of New and Renewable Energies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Munir Suhail. The achievement was further supported by the dedicated efforts of the department’s faculty members, staff, students, and specialized academic committees, all working collectively to fulfill quality assurance standards and program accreditation requirements in accordance with approved national criteria.

The Quality Assurance Division also played a pivotal role in managing the accreditation process under the leadership of Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdulhaq, Director of Quality Assurance, and his distinguished team. Through meticulous preparation of reports, comprehensive documentation of standards, and continuous monitoring of evaluation and improvement procedures, the division made a direct and significant contribution to securing this achievement.

This accreditation reflects the College’s commitment to advancing academic curricula, enhancing laboratory facilities, and supporting scientific research in the fields of clean and renewable energy, in alignment with the principles of sustainable development and the global transition toward a green economy.

Moreover, this program accreditation serves as a renewed affirmation of the University of Mosul’s leading position within Iraq’s higher education quality framework and stands as a source of pride for every citizen of Mosul and Iraq, demonstrating that the journey toward academic excellence continues with determination, vision, and steadfast commitment.
