Registration of a Bacterial Strain in the NCBI Database

A research team from the Department of Biology, College of Science – University of Mosul, has successfully registered a bacterial strain in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database as part of its academic research activities and undergraduate graduation projects.

The research work was conducted under the supervision of Professor Dr. Anmar Ahmad Al-Taie, with the participation of undergraduate students (Abdulrahman Younis, Zainab Radwan, Safa Laith, and Toqa Ghazwan) as part of their graduation project.

The registered bacterial strain belongs to Streptococcus salivarius, which was isolated from dental caries samples and identified using molecular diagnostic techniques.

The strain has been officially deposited in the GenBank database of the NCBI under the code (AnAbZaSaTu) and the accession number:

PZ038793

This achievement comes within the framework of academic research requirements and contributes to documenting bacterial molecular data, making it available to researchers worldwide.
