In the context of strengthening scientific and academic cooperation among Iraqi universities, Professor Dr. Faten Nouri Abd, a faculty member from the Department of Biology at our College of Science, chaired the examination committee for a Master’s thesis at the College of Science – Salahaddin University – Erbil, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

The defense was held in the Department of Biology, where she chaired the committee for the thesis submitted by the student Afan Abdulkhaliq Nouri, titled:

“Identification of Fungi and Antifungal Susceptibility in Cancer Patients with Oral Lesions in Erbil City.”

The study focused on the identification of fungal pathogens and the assessment of antifungal susceptibility in cancer patients suffering from oral lesions in Erbil, contributing to improved diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in the medical field.

At the conclusion of the defense, Professor Dr. Faten Nouri Abd was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Dean of the College of Science at Salahaddin University – Erbil, in recognition of her scientific contributions and active role in the committee.

This participation reflects the distinguished academic presence of our college and its active role in supporting scientific and research advancement across Iraqi universities.
