Registration of Four New Bacterial Isolates

A research team from the Department of Biology at our college has successfully registered four bacterial strains in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database, as part of its ongoing academic research activities.

The study was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nihal Izzat Jumaa, with the participation of research project students Ghufran Rafae Ibrahim and Zina Khaled Ahmed.

The registered bacterial isolates belong to Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), which were isolated from wound infection cases and identified using molecular methods based on the analysis and sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene.

The genetic sequences were officially deposited in the GenBank database of NCBI under the strain names:

  • NZGH1
  • NZGH2
  • NZGH3
  • NZGH4

and with the following accession numbers:

  • PZ118612
  • PZ118613
  • PZ118614
  • PZ118615

This step comes within the requirements of academic scientific research and contributes to documenting bacterial molecular data and making it available to researchers worldwide.

We wish continued progress and success to the faculty and students of our college.
