College of Science Students Achieve Distinguished Results in University Chess Championship

The female students of the College of Science achieved notable success, adding a new accomplishment to the College’s athletic record in the University of Mosul Chess Championship (Female Students), held at the College of Education for Pure Sciences. The College secured the eighth place out of 36 participants representing 25 colleges, in a highly competitive and intense sporting atmosphere.

The College of Science was represented in the tournament by:

  • Student Huda Hisham Yassin, Fourth Year – Medical Physics
  • Student Ghusq Niyar Ahmed, Third Year – Chemistry

Both students delivered an outstanding performance that reflected determination, competitiveness, and dedication, contributing to this honorable achievement among participants from various colleges of the University.

The College of Science emphasizes, through such achievements, its commitment to supporting student talents and developing their skills, thereby strengthening its presence in university extracurricular activities and encouraging further accomplishments across different fields.

At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, commended the efforts of the Student Activities Division, represented by Dr. Othman Ahmed Elias, wishing them continued success and excellence in their work.
