The Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, held an expanded meeting with the faculty members of the Department of Biology, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rayan Mazen Faisal, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Adel Shareef, and the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Amjad Abdulhadi.

The meeting focused on discussing the requirements of academic accreditation committees and exploring ways to strengthen the Department of Biology’s preparedness to fulfill quality assurance standards. These efforts are aligned with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision of achieving institutional excellence and advancing academic quality.

The participants also reviewed preparations for the final examinations of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Emphasis was placed on providing a suitable examination environment that ensures smooth procedures, fairness among students, and the completion of academic curricula according to the approved study plans.

During the meeting, the Dean listened to the opinions and suggestions of faculty members, reaffirming the College’s support for their academic and scientific efforts. She stressed the importance of promoting high-quality scientific publishing and meeting academic promotion requirements, as these factors contribute to enhancing the College’s standing and improving the University’s ranking at both the national and international levels.

She further noted that these initiatives receive direct support from the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, who places great importance on scientific research and academic development and remains committed to supporting faculty members and researchers in their scholarly endeavors.

This meeting forms part of a series of regular gatherings organized by the College Deanship to strengthen communication with academic departments, promote a culture of quality assurance, and create a motivating academic environment that supports institutional excellence and continuous development.
