The Department of Geology and Petroleum at our college held a faculty meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Khalook Mohammed Sajid, and attended by the Department Coordinator, Dr. Saddam Isa Mustafa, alongside esteemed faculty members.

The meeting focused on the department’s ongoing preparations, specifically infrastructure development and meeting laboratory requirements. These efforts aim to secure national accreditation by fulfilling all necessary benchmarks and organizing subsequent tasks.

Furthermore, attendees discussed the new criteria mandated by the National Council for Accreditation of Science Programs. The council also reviewed the schedules for final practical and theoretical examinations, and set dates for the defense of fourth-year graduation projects.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion, where faculty members shared insights and feedback on the agenda items to advance academic standards and enhance institutional performance.
