In a new scientific and administrative achievement added to its record of successes, the College of Science at the University of Mosul has obtained official approval from the National Commission for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological Regulatory Control, affiliated with the Iraqi Council of Ministers, authorizing the possession and use of radioactive sources for the Department of Physics, in accordance with the applicable regulations and guidelines.

This achievement is the result of the continuous support and close follow-up of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the dedicated efforts of the Head of the Department of Physics, Assist. Prof. Dr. Samir Mahmoud Ahmed, along with the supporting academic and administrative staff.

This authorization represents an important step toward strengthening the infrastructure of the department’s teaching and research laboratories, contributing to the advancement of the academic environment and providing students and researchers with modern scientific capabilities. It also supports the progress of scientific research in the fields of applied physics and radiation sciences.

The College of Science reaffirms its commitment to obtaining official accreditations and providing the scientific resources necessary to enhance academic and research performance, in line with the University of Mosul’s vision of leadership and excellence.
