In line with the vision of the University of Mosul Presidency, and under the directives of the University President, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, as well as the supervision and support of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the Subcommittee of Academic Promotions at the College hosted Professor Dr. Laith Ahmed Al-Sabha, a member of the Central Promotions Division at the University Presidency, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

The meeting was held in the presence of the head and members of the subcommittee in an atmosphere of professional collaboration. It included a review of the key observations and challenges faced by faculty members when preparing and submitting promotion applications, as well as a discussion of the legal frameworks and ministerial regulations governing this process to ensure full compliance with applicable instructions.

The discussion emphasized the activation of the role of scientific committees within departments in reviewing promotion files, along with providing practical guidance to academic staff to facilitate the submission process through the electronic system and ensure its smooth implementation.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on intensifying practical guidance and raising awareness among staff regarding the requirements of the digital system, in a manner that supports the academic progress of the College and enhances the university’s scholarly reputation.
