By the will of Allah Almighty, the College of Science / Department of Biology will hold the defense of the Master’s thesis submitted by the student Ruqaya Thamer Maysar Dhannoun, entitled:

“An Ecological and Biological Study of Selected Epiphytic Algae Species in the Tigris River within Mosul City.”

The thesis aims to conduct a comprehensive ecological and biological investigation of selected epiphytic algae species inhabiting the Tigris River in Mosul City and to evaluate the extent to which these organisms are affected by environmental variables and various pollutants. The study seeks to contribute to a better understanding of aquatic ecological balance and to provide reliable biological indicators for assessing water quality in the region.

The thesis defense will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, 24 May 2026, in Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Haj Qasim Hall, Department of Life Sciences.
