Two Faculty Members from the College of Science Participate in a Ph.D. Dissertation Defense at Tikrit University

As part of strengthening scientific and academic collaboration among Iraqi universities and promoting the exchange of research expertise, Prof. Dr. Nasreen Malallah Aziz and Prof. Dr. Omar Ahmed Mouloud Al-Badrani, faculty members in the Department of Geology and Petroleum, College of Science, University of Mosul, participated in the defense of a Ph.D. dissertation submitted by Ms. Wafaa Anmar Younis at the College of Science, Tikrit University, on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The dissertation, entitled:

“Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, and Reservoir Characterization of the Secondary Early Miocene Cycle Successions in the Qasab and Jawan Oil Fields, Northern Iraq”

was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nasreen Malallah Aziz. The examination committee also included Prof. Dr. Omar Ahmed Mouloud Al-Badrani, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Jammad Mohammed, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaseen Saleh Kareem, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Muthanna Younis Mohammed, while Prof. Dr. Fares Najris Hassan served as a committee member and the dissertation supervisor.

At the conclusion of the defense, the Dean of the College of Science, Tikrit University, presented Letters of Appreciation to the members of the examination committee in recognition of their valuable scientific contributions and their role in enriching the academic discussion and evaluating the dissertation.

The College of Science at the University of Mosul extends its sincere congratulations to its faculty members and wishes them continued success, excellence, and outstanding achievements in their academic and scientific careers.
