Master thesis at the Faculty of Science discusses the use of nanoelements in improving the production of fruiting bodies of mushrooms

The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Mosul, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, discussed the master thesis tagged ” evaluation of the efficiency of some nanoelements in improving the production of fruiting bodies of Agaricus spp mushrooms.“”And the introduction of the master’s student Sari Yusuf Mahmoud Mohammed from the branch of Botany. The thesis aimed to employ sustainable agricultural techniques in the production of white mushroom Agaricus bisporus through the investment and recycling of organic residues, the green synthesis of nanoparticles of some elements using plant residues, and then assess the effect of spraying with these particles at different concentrations in the indicators of growth, productivity and bioefficiency, as well as studying their impact on the nutritional value of mushrooms by estimating the content of proteins, carbohydrates, amino acids, mineral elements and beta-glucan. The results of the study showed the success of the green synthesis of nanoparticles and confirm their properties using various characterization techniques, and the results also showed that the use of these particles contributed to improving the growth and productivity of white mushrooms and raising its vital efficiency, as well as enhancing its nutritional value by increasing its content of proteins, carbohydrates, mineral elements, amino acids and beta-glucan. The importance of the study highlights the possibility of using green nanotechnologies and investing organic and plant residues in enhancing the production of white mushrooms and improving their nutritional value, thus supporting the trend towards more sustainable agricultural practices. The discussion Committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nadim Ahmed Ramadan, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Fahd Khalaf Yassin and teacher Dr. may Taha Hamed Mohammed, and under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Khalaf Mahmoud. On the sidelines of the discussion, on behalf of the dean of the Faculty of science, professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, the head of the Department of life sciences, professor Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi Mohammed, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Fahd Khalaf Yassin from the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul / northern Technical University, in appreciation of his participation in the master’s thesis discussion Committee. We wish our dear students continued success and success.
