The Faculty of science at the University of Mosul has taken a new step towards promoting the use of renewable energy sources through the completion of a solar energy system that includes (12) solar panels, with a production capacity of (7.6) kW and a capacity of (30) amperes, as part of the University’s orientation towards providing sustainable alternatives to electrical energy in its formations. The completion of the system comes in response to the directives of the president of the University of Mosul, professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, to expand the use of solar energy systems in the University’s faculties, which contributes to supporting the continuity of academic and administrative work, especially in light of the universities ‘ coverage of the programmed disconnection of electricity. The dean of the College of science, professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, followed the stages of the project implementation until the completion of the monument works, as part of the efforts of the Deanship of the college to develop infrastructure and take advantage of modern solutions in providing clean and sustainable energy. The project represents a practical step towards rationalizing the consumption of conventional electric energy and enhancing reliance on renewable sources, in line with the directions of Mosul University in the field of environmental sustainability and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
