Master thesis discusses the identification of the relationship between the level of growth hormone and the gene expression value of the GH1 gene in cases of short stature

The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Tagged master‘s thesis: Determining the relationship between growth hormone level and the expression value of the GH1 in cases of short stature Presented by researcher Noor Nawaf Abdul Latif, a student from the specialty of Zoology, in the presence of the dean of the college, professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, Scientific Assistant Professor Dr. Ryan Mazen Faisal and a number of teachers of the Department of life sciences and graduate students. The study focused on measuring the levels of growth hormone (GH) using the fluorescent enzyme immunoassay (FEIA) technique, assessing the regulatory role of non-coding RNA molecules (ncRNAs), including microRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs, by measuring the expression levels of miR-335-5p, MIR205HG and ANAPC2, determining their correlation with short stature and their potential as diagnostic biomarkers. The aim of the study was to reveal the gene expression levels of the GH1 gene and GH protein levels, determine their relationship to short stature in children, assess the role of non-coding RNA (ncRNAs) in the regulation of the GH1 gene, as well as identify the genetic variation in the GH1 gene and its association with short stature in children. The results of the study showed the possibility of adopting a number of ncRNA molecules and associated molecular indicators as promising biomarkers for early diagnosis of short stature, as well as their contribution to understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating the disease, enhancing the opportunities for developing more accurate diagnostic tools and paving the way for future therapeutic prospects based on Molecular Medicine. The discussion Committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Mikael Hassan, and the membership of assistant professor Dr. Sarab Daoud Suleiman Yahya, assistant professor Dr. Abeer Atallah Ayed Jassim, and under the supervision of Prof. The dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to assistant professor Dr. Sarab Daoud Suleiman Yahya, teaching in medical laboratory technologies / Al-Hadba University, in appreciation of her distinguished scientific participation in the membership of the discussion Committee, and in appreciation of her academic contributions in supporting scientific research and strengthening cooperation between Iraqi universities. Our wishes to the students and teachers of our college continued success and success
