Assistant professor Dr. Najah Sobhi Nayef, teaching at the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Science, published a scientific research entitled: “Effects of aflatoxins on the growth and development of secondary hydatid cysts arising from sheep and their treatment with Mycofix in mice” In the Journal of Natural and Engineering Sciences (NESciences), a peer-reviewed scientific journal indexed within the Scopus database, and ranked within the Q1 first quarter. The study examined the effect of aflatoxin toxins on the growth and development of secondary adenocarcinoma cysts caused by the Echinococcus granulosus parasite, while studying the possibility of reducing these effects using Mycofix 0.3+. The results showed that exposure to aflatoxin led to an increase in the number, size and distribution of adenoid cysts in the body organs compared to the control group, while the use of Mycofix contributed to a clear reduction in these effects. The importance of the research is highlighted in highlighting the relationship between mycotoxins and the severity of Parasitic Diseases, and the results may provide prospects for future studies that contribute to reducing the impact of these factors.
