A teaching from the Department of life sciences participates in the discussion of a master’s thesis at the Faculty of education for pure sciences

Dr. Fatima Qasim Mohammed, a lecturer in the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science, participated as a member of the committee to discuss a master’s thesis in the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of education for pure sciences at the University of Mosul, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, within the framework of the scientific participation of faculty teachers in the discussion of research and graduate studies. The committee discussed the master thesis entitled” The study of histopathological effects and physiological parameters caused by some drugs in some organs of white rats”, submitted by the student Ruqayya Ahmed Khader Al-kahiya, which aimed to assess the preventive and therapeutic effect of virgin coconut oil in reducing the effects resulting from the use of antibiotics levofloxacin and ceftriaxone in the liver and kidneys of white rats. The study was based on 56 male rats, and the results showed changes in a number of biochemical and immunological indicators, as well as histological effects in the liver and kidneys in groups treated with antibiotics, while the use of virgin coconut oil contributed to mitigating these effects and improving a number of studied indicators. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Amir Mahmoud Taha as chairman, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Fatima Qasim Mohammed and Assistant Prof. Dr. Bayda Ghanem Mohammed, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Prof. Dr. Sanabel Abdel Moneim Abdel Majid.
