On a distinguished morning from the mornings of Mosul Al-Hadbaa, and its Gharaa University, under the generous patronage of the respected President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmady, and in the presence of the respected Mr. Assistant President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Munir Taha Al-Badrani, and the respected Mrs. Dean of the College of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Al-Taii and a number of judges, security leaders and specialists, in addition to the members of the faculty council and a large group of faculty and students of the faculty, the Department of Biology in our faculty held its scientific symposium tagged “Analysis of Forensic Evidence, Reality and Ambition”.The symposium, which took place at exactly ten o’clock this morning, Monday, March 7, 2022, in the Biology Department of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Hajj Qassem’s hall, opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of the national anthem, in addition to the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, and then a lecture An opening session followed by a break, then several lectures were delivered by a group of the department’s lecturers aimed at:1- Keeping abreast of developments in technology and adopting molecular biology in forensic analysis.2- A statement of the most important methods adopted for inference and detection of the existence of forensic evidence.3- Identifying the genetic fingerprint and the Banana fingerprint and their uses with the determination of human character and identity.4- Giving a legal justification for some cases of abortion to some pregnant women.5- Restoring the legal rights of the legal heirs.6- Shedding light on the most important techniques used in forensic DNA analysis.7- Reaching the perpetrators quickly to prevent them from committing other crimes.8- Adopting the most efficient methods for extracting forensic DNA.9- Demonstrating the strength and accuracy of bioinformatics programs in the speed of analysis and interpretation of the results of forensic DNA.The symposium came out with many recommendations made by the head of the department, assistant professor Dr. Raed Salem Al-Saffar. At the end of the symposium, the lecturers were awarded certificates of appreciation for their fruitful efforts in holding the symposium, and all participants will be given certificates of participation in the symposium.
