Faculty Member from the Department of Physics Publishes a Scientific Paper in a Q1 International Journal

Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Abdullah, a faculty member in the Department of Physics at the College of Science – University of Mosul, has published a scientific paper in the British journal Applied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, which is indexed in both Scopus and Clarivate and classified within the first quartile (Q1).
The research presents an innovative approach to secure digital data storage using DNA, leveraging its exceptional characteristics such as high storage capacity and long-term stability.
Dr. Abdullah developed a novel encryption algorithm based on genetic sequences obtained from the NCBI gene bank, generating dynamic encryption keys to enhance data security. Additionally, the study utilized techniques for converting digital data into DNA sequences to improve storage efficiency.
Simulation results demonstrated high effectiveness in resisting cyberattacks and excellent performance speed, offering an advanced framework for securing digital data in modern computing environments.
