On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Mosul, discussed the Ph.D. dissertation titled:
“Conversion of Atmospheric Distillation Residues of Ain Zala Crude Oil into Improved Liquid Products with Higher Economic Value through Various Thermal Treatments.”

The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Science, the Administrative Assistant Dean, the Head of the Department, and a number of esteemed faculty members.

The research, conducted by Muntaha Haider Yaqoub from the Department of Chemistry, aimed to explore innovative methods for upgrading petroleum residues into more valuable liquid products using different thermal processing techniques.
