Master’s Thesis at the College of Science Explores the Efficiency of Fungi in Removing Heavy Metals from Diesel-Contaminated Soil
The Department of Biology at the College of Science, University of Mosul, held a Master’s thesis defense on Sunday, August 31, 2025, for the thesis titled:
“Evaluation of the Efficiency of Certain Fungi Isolated from Diesel-Contaminated Soil in Removing Heavy Metals,”
presented by Faisal Qasim Haji from the Botany Division.
The defense was attended by Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Science, along with the Head of the Department and several faculty members.
The thesis focused on studying the ability of selected fungi to remove heavy metals from polluted soils, offering insights that could contribute to environmental remediation research.
