Dean of the College of Science Chairs a Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Environmental Sciences

Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Science, chaired the defense committee of the master’s thesis presented by student Nabaa Ziyad Mohammed Mohammed Ali from the Department of Environmental Sciences, College of Environmental Sciences. The thesis, entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on Stimulating Plant Pathogenic Fungi to Infect Humans”, was defended on Wednesday morning, September 10, 2025.
The defense committee included Asst. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Khalil Abdullah and Lect. Dr. Noor Maisar Sadiq, while Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil supervised the thesis and also served as a committee member.
The study addressed the impact of climate change on stimulating plant pathogenic fungi and their potential to infect humans and animals, achieving three of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

At the conclusion of the defense, Prof. Dr. Muthanna Jassim, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, presented a letter of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim in recognition of her valuable comments and insightful scientific guidance.
