A researcher from the College of science – Mosul University is among the top 2% of the world’s scientists according to Stanford University

In a new scientific achievement added to the Register of the College of Science – University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman basil, a lecturer in the Department of chemistry, was included in the list of the top 2% of the world’s scientists for 2025, according to the International Classification issued by Stanford University, based on the Scopus database for scientific citations.

This classification is one of the most accurate international academic classifications, as it is based on objective criteria including the number of published papers, the number of citations, the co-authorship rate, and the scientific impact in the specialty. Dr. Abdulrahman Basil has achieved an h-index of 36, with a number of citations (Citations) of 2650 for 73 published papers within Scopus, reflecting the great impact of his scientific works and his research status at the regional and international levels.

The Deanship of the College of science, represented by the dean of the College, Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, expresses her pride and appreciation for this achievement, which embodies the spirit of creativity and diligence within the academic staff of the college, and is a great motivation for the rest of the researchers and students to continue the March of giving and scientific excellence.

This achievement represents an international recognition of the status of the College of Science – University of Mosul and its continuous efforts in enhancing the scientific research environment and supporting the academic career of the University at the global level.
