College of Science

Based on the mission of the College of Science in supporting scientific research and employing the results of professors to serve the human being and society, the scientific symposium tagged “applications of nanoimmunotherapy in cancer treatment” was held today, Monday, November 3, 2025, organized by the Department of Biology Sciences in the Hall of Dr. Farouk al-Omari (may Allah have mercy on him).

The seminar was sponsored by the president of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the supervision of the dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and with the follow-up and presence of the head of the Department of Biology Sciences, Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi Mohammed.

The seminar dealt with the latest scientific trends in the applications of nanoimmunotherapy to combat cancerous tumors, and its lectures were delivered by a group of distinguished professors of the Department:

• Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim
• Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Jabbar Hussein
• Dr. Ahmed Saadoun Hassoun
• Teacher Dr. Sri Mahmoud Younis

The lecturers reviewed recent developments in the use of nanotechnology in improving the targeting of cancer cells, reducing the side effects of traditional chemotherapy treatments, focusing on the promising potential of nanoimmunotherapy in modern medicine.

The seminar witnessed a wide attendance of teachers, graduate students and researchers, who praised the richness of the topics presented and their importance in supporting research efforts in the field of Biomedicine.

At the end of the event, the Deanship of the college extended thanks and appreciation to the lecturers and participants, appreciating their efforts in enriching the scientific movement within the University and serving the community through research and knowledge.
