The end of the Iraqi anti-drug week November 16-20, 2025 in the physics department

The Department of physics concluded on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the activities of the Iraqi anti-drug week after a series of awareness-raising activities and lectures provided by college of science teachers, in addition to the distribution of leaflets and posters for student awareness.

The last day witnessed the organization of an awareness meeting presented by the head of the physics department, assistant prof. Dr. Samir Mahmoud Ahmed on the discussion Hall in the physics department, which was attended by the lecturer of the department, Dr. Huda Mohammed Munir, the guidance officer in the physics department, assistant prof. Dr. Yusra Malallah and a number of teachers and students of the Department.

In it, the doctor addressed the topic of the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on the individual and society, and touched upon the types of natural and manufactured drugs, and the spread of means of promoting them among the youth, especially within the university environment and through social media, and also stressed the importance of enhancing students ‘ awareness and directing them towards positive behaviors to immunize them from delinquency and the risks of addiction.

The meeting witnessed a positive interaction from the students, and many of them asked questions related to ways to help an addicted friend, and how to deal with suspicious offers, stressing the importance of continuing such awareness seminars.

Our wishes are to teach full-time in a way that serves the community, fights addiction and protects our children from its dangers.
