A course entitled ” Smart Nutrition is a proactive step for a better life “

Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the direct supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science concluded on Monday, December 2, 2025 the activities of the continuing education course tagged “smart nutrition is a proactive step for a better life”, which was launched on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

This course aimed at raising awareness of the importance of food as a key factor in preventing diseases and improving the quality of life, and included a selection of advanced scientific lectures provided by specialized teaching staff.

Course themes:

  • First day-Tuesday 25/11: a comprehensive introduction to the concept of smart nutrition, explaining the scientific foundations of smart food selection and its role in promoting public health.
  • The second day-Wednesday 26/11: dedicated to nutrition programs for patients with atherosclerosis and heart, highlighting the best nutritional practices for managing these health conditions.
  • The third day-Thursday 27/11: during which the appropriate diets for patients with diabetes and liver were discussed, with a review of the latest scientific recommendations in this field.
  • Day four-Sunday 30/11: the lecturers discussed the close relationship between food and the psychological state, through a lecture entitled “Taking care of mental health through food”, which focused on the impact of food components on brain function and general mood.
  • The fifth day-Monday 1/12: the course concluded with an evaluation test for the participants to measure the benefit of the course axes, the participants praised the rich scientific content and outstanding organization.
