College of Science

Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up and presence of the head of the Department of Biology sciences, prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi, in order to spread health awareness and promote the concepts of social responsibility among students and society, the A workshop entitled (Blood Donation and the difference between health benefits and social responsibility) on Sunday, November 30, 2025, delivered by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qattan and Assistant Prof. Dr. Marwa Hashim and L. Hadeel Tarek Saadoun, attended by a number of teachers and students of the Department.

The workshop included several main topics that addressed the benefits of blood donation, its health conditions and various types, in addition to medical cupping in terms of its scientific concept, its potential benefits and the controls required to conduct it safely. The workshop also focused on the societal importance of these practices, their role in supporting patients and promoting human solidarity, as well as correcting common concepts related to them.

At the end of the workshop, extensive discussions were held with the attendees to answer their queries, stressing the importance of promoting a culture of blood donation and commitment to sound health practices to serve the community.
