An awareness workshop at the College of Science highlights the importance of intellectual awareness
Under the patronage of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the College of science organized on Sunday, December 7, 2025 an awareness workshop entitled (Be aware), in which Mr. Kazim Faisal Ali and Sheikh Abdul Hakim Abdul Sattar Iskandar hosted to talk about the safety of intellectual security and its impact on the protection of society.
The workshop was held at the rehab of Dr. Farouk al-Omari Hall, in the presence of a number of teachers, staff and students.
The two lecturers discussed important topics on enhancing intellectual awareness among young people, highlighting the risks of intellectual deviations that threaten the stability and cohesion of society, in addition to emphasizing the role of educational institutions in spreading the values of moderation and moderation.
The workshop also touched on the importance of developing students ‘ critical thinking skills, enabling them to distinguish between reliable information and misleading content, as well as guiding them towards the proper use of social media to enhance intellectual security and reduce the negative effects of extremist thought.
At the end of the workshop, she made a set of recommendations that stressed the importance of continuing awareness-raising activities inside and outside the university, promoting a culture of dialogue, and encouraging students to adhere to the values of moderation and moderation and stay away from the sources of extremist thought.
