Scientific course entitled (bacterial resistance to antibiotics and the role of synergy in getting rid of them )

Under the patronage of the blessing of the president of Mosul University, professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and the supervision of the dean of the College of science, professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up and presence of the head of the Department of Biology sciences, professor Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi, and within the continuing education programs, a scientific course entitled” bacterial resistance antibiotics and the role of synergy in getting rid of them” on Tuesday, October 25, 2025, at the Hall of martyrs in the Department, delivered by L. Dr. The gift of Khaled Mahmoud and L. Dr. Hoda Walid Hadi al-Hayali and L. Dr. The session was attended by the lecturer and a number of teachers and students of the department, as well as a group of participants from inside the University of Mosul.
The course dealt with several topics on bacterial resistance, including :
1. An introductory introduction about the mechanism of action and classification of antibiotics and the causes of bacterial resistance to them.
2. The lecture also included the most important genes responsible for the resistance to these antibiotics and the most important clinical strategies used to reduce this increased resistance.
3. The synergistic mechanism and biological laboratory methods for conducting this test outside the living body, and the most important materials of plant and natural source that are used in synergy to overcome bacterial resistance.
This course comes in line with the directions of the Faculty of Science in supporting scientific research and spreading the culture of sustainable development.
At the end of the events, certificates of participation were distributed to the participants and attendees.
